The Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is a
crucial 1-year posting that follows the academic phases of the MBBS program.
Interns rotate through various medical wards, emergency departments, and
intensive care units under the direct supervision of senior faculty.
During these postings (including General Medicine, Surgery,
Pediatrics, and Community Medicine), interns are expected to develop core
clinical competencies. These include taking detailed patient histories,
performing thorough physical examinations, requesting appropriate
investigations, and formulating evidence-based management plans.
Interns will also participate in daily ward rounds, clinical
case presentations, rural camps, and academic seminars to enhance their
clinical reasoning skills. This practical training forms the foundation of
clinical practice and is critical for preparing graduates for diverse
medical scenarios they will encounter in their professional careers.
